random photos

#1 a kitten i found last week at my moms that i wanted to keep so desperately i felt like i was on some soap opera, complete with pensive looks off into the distance, with head slightly tilted and eyes a little squinted. it didn't help a lick but it did make me realize pretending you're on a soap opera scares the general public.

#2 aria at the beach in august. i can't believe the summer is gone. it just went by so fast and i sometimes daydream about it just out of the blue like when it's cold and rainy and i'm in my house crying and looking out the window like an inmate.

#3 my baby boy. he was 1ish in that photograph and it is one of my favorites. that face. that face!

#4 me & my aria. "mama my friend" she tells me. and kisses me so strong, total mafia kiss. and hugs me as she buries her little face under my chin.

#5 aria dancing in the living room. i was in the kitchen and i hear "baweeena! baweeeena!" and hop over to see this. heart puddle!

#6 aria looking out the window

#7 my luke, so grown up! i snapped this while we were in the grocery store parking lot, he sits
in the front seat and talks to me while we wait for aria to wake up from her car nap. i love it.

#8 the little kitten again. purring by me. basically begging me to be its mama. but we gave it back to the mama and deep in my heart i know that it was bad timing and the right decision. it's just so hard to say goodbye to a kitten after you've bonded with it for 30 minutes and then witness it splash a puddle with its tiny little paw! do you even know how cute that is? well let me tell you, it's freakin' adorable!!

yolo

so i want to move away.
out to more of a wide open space.
out to where i can wake up
& smell fresher air
& have a barn free of animals.

yes, you read that right.
i would love a little barn.
but animals? no, i can't do that.
i am a country girl deep down in my heart.
but i am not so inclined to be fetchin water
for chickens and cleaning up goat doodles.
no, that's just crazy.
i sometimes wish i was more of an
animal girl, but then i spot a really cute
dress and lose my train of thought so i
never actually complete the wish.

i like to visit working farms though.
you know, when you can laugh at that
obnoxious baby goat call and
run away in a giggling tizzy as the cow
dumps a truckload out right
in the middle of your best ice cream flavor debate.

i really do have an infatuation
with horses, i think
they are gorgeous and it is
on my bucket list to ride one.
i imagine myself riding upon one
just like those girls in those
perfume commercials. only my hair
would be a tangled rat's nest after about 4 minutes
and my eyes would be watering
and i'd probably
look like i was wearing
an invisible neck brace
from my nerves. and then the
horse would actually start
moving and i'd look even worse.

well, i have a boatload of stuff to do today
so i should go.
the weather is finally picking up so i am hoping to
get out and enjoy it.

thanks for reading all this.

time flyin

it is so cliche to say "time flies" and then "gah! ... go catch it!"
hardy har har. cough. "oh look, a bird!"

but my baby boy is going to be 7 in 3 months. he is only 3 in the top
pic. and that's aria in the blurry pic above, looking at me so sweetly.
i swear she knew i was leaving her to go out for the night. i was only
a mile away and gone like 2 hours but she basically bawled the whole
time, and she was with her dad. and brother. maybe she just doesn't
like me having fun without her.

anyway, no birthday parties this year for my babes. nope!
we did both last year so we are skipping this year and just
going on a couple of birthday picnics out in a wide open
space. it will be loads of fun and the best part is,
neither of them care a lick.

i am ready for this weekend. also, gotta lot of projects
i'm working on. one is to finish up this book of mine.
i am a poet. don't worry, i am not going to kill myself
or cry at parties, but indeed, i am a bonafide poet.
i have been writing since i was 12. and i just love it
so. i kinda view my writing life as my alter ego.
but not in a creepy way. i don't wake up and go
(insert clapping hands twice in the air) "today
i am amy fairweather!" but that is my pen name.

here is the cover to my book. ;

i loved this shoot! went down to an abandoned house and got to be very not me.

well, anyway. this is one project i am trying to wrap up asap.

this was a very random post but hey, it's friday!

looking at each other as sweet as can be on Valentine's Day!

art! lots & lots of messes but so much dang fun!

one breastfeeding view . & i know, dirty dust boards. & she's getting weened next month, right before  she turns 2. my boobs are already celebrating. don't get me wrong, i love it, wouldn't change a thing, but yeah, it's been a while!

old pic of me & my husband.

little aria, reading. she just loves it,

the end.

you take what you get

so as usual, i have all these cute little photo ideas for me and my babies.
but as usual, only a couple turn out.
aria gets tired of photos pretty quick. at this
age, luke was way easier. he'd let me take photos of him
and with him till the cows came home, which worked out
great since we have no cows.

but hey, i got a few cute shots of us.
i promise i have a husband but he is never
around when there is good lighting and then
when he is around and there is good lighting
and i ask him if he wants to take a picture
he looks at me like i just asked him if he'd like
to try naked aerobics. it's a picture! a cute fun
picture, why doesn't everyone share this love affair
with photographs that i have?

well, right now luke is at school and aria is on the
couch "reading" to herself. little legs stretched out
with a giant book on her lap, tiny inflections that sound
like a flower talking in the midst of the pages crinkling
as she turns them. sweetness galore.

summer girl

i am a summer girl.
so is aria.
i know she is not yet 2 but i can tell.

i am not the one who swoons over
the up and coming sweater weather.
or gets excited at the prospect of
warm cocoa by the fire.
pleh.
that's right, i said pleh.
sure, it's cute.
but it isn't cute enough for me
to wish summer away.

winter.is. too. long.

so i guess tomorrow i'm gonna
take out my camera and have a
gigantic photo session indoors.

i just gots ta.
